Elevating Your Elevator Speech with Eric Celarier

  • DC Arts Center 2438 18th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20009 United States (map)

Join us at The DC Arts Center for a Professional Development Workshop designed to refine your elevator speech. Led by Eric Celarier from the Washington Sculptors Group, this presentation will mirror one of the best attended online events WSG has ever sponsored. Participants will distill the essence of their artistic practice into a compelling but brief statement that captures the attention and curiosity of those who might not be familiar with who you are and what you do. Learn valuable techniques and multiple strategies for adapting your pitch for different audiences in ways that increase your impact without sacrificing authenticity.

Eric Celarier is an artist, educator, writer, and curator based in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. With a focus on the theme of biological evolution and its connection to human impact, Celarier creates sculptures and prints using discarded materials to highlight the Earth's history of profound biological changes intertwined with significant environmental shifts. He has had solo exhibitions at Honfleur Gallery (Washington, DC), VisArts (Rockville, MD), the Delaplaine Fine Arts Center (Frederick, MD), McLean Project for the Arts (McLean, VA), and Black Rock Center for the Arts (Germantown, MD).

Celarier's passion for the arts extends beyond his own practice. He actively reviews gallery shows, contributing his insights to publications such as East City Art. As a board member of the Washington Sculptures Group and a facilitator for the DCAC's Sparkplug Artist Collective, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the local artistic community.
