FROM THE ARTIST

My art is inspired by my Moldovan roots and feminine force, courage and wisdom. I explore and rediscover my heritage by bringing traditional Moldovan patterns into my art. In my creative process my vision is to bring a modern twist on traditional pattern using rough brushstrokes and bold colours to make it stand out and make the viewer wonder.

ABOUT VICTORIA GANEA

Victoria originally is from Republic of Moldova, left home in her 20s and lived in a few countries in Europe, but mainly in London, UK.

She always loved creating and since she was a little girl she has designed and sewed her own clothes, was part of various dancing groups and participated in quite a few contests and shows. However drawing was something that she would come back to throughout her life and she always felt the need to deepen her knowledge. Victoria took the Milan Mastery Program, studied under world renowned artists Elle, John and Dimitra Milan and graduated in early 2023.

Today Victoria is a mixed media artist whose style can be described as "abstract realism". Deeply inspired by her roots and feminine force, courage and wisdom she explores and rediscovers her heritage combining it with portraits of strong women. In her creative process she uses acrylics, oil paint and oil pastels for texture. Clean lines and rich, deep dark colours are characteristic of her paintings. Currently Victoria lives in Washington DC with her husband and creates in her home art studio.
