From the Artist

Holly Hessner is a local artist currently living in the Washington, DC area. Raised in New York, she began drawing and painting as a toddler, continuing on and off throughout her life. Holly is a student at Boston University, not studying art but working as an artist along with completing her education.

Beginning this summer, Holly used painting to become more mindful and created works everyday. On Long Island, she would paint on the beaches for hours, enjoying nature while making art. Holly started an Instagram account, where she posts her artwork regularly. Despite not planning to become a professional artist, she has sold several works and commissioned a few.

Holly thanks the DC Arts Center for supporting her work and Andy's Pizza for showcasing it this month. She gives special thanks to the Adam's Morgan Partnership Bid for offering her a great opportunity. Follow Holly on Instagram to see more of her work, and direct message her for inquiries.
