From the Artist

Diamond Booker, also known as Kiru, has a deep passion for storytelling through art. Growing up, I embraced my love for fashion, art, and storytelling. I discovered that storytelling is a unique way to convey messages without altering the essence of conversations. My artistic journey began in elementary school, where I looked forward to art class, eager to showcase my talents. I crafted a small knitted coaster for my dad’s coffee and sculpted various shapes to display in his workspace—he still treasures them to this day.

As life carried me through different experiences, I learned more about myself and started to break down the barriers surrounding the definition of art. I came to appreciate the importance of connections and the love for untold stories in art. As a storytelling artist, I aspire to make my work more versatile, experimenting with textures and colors to convey more profound messages. My goal is to inspire my audience through my creations and bring to light stories that deserve to be shared.
