Qrcky's artistic journey commenced in the 1970s in southern Virginia, where the art world was a distant echo in his family's cultural landscape. Despite this, Qrcky was entranced by the masterpieces of Chuck Jones, Norman Rockwell, and Bob Ross. His fascination led him to spend countless hours attempting to emulate their styles, all while immersed in cartoons. However, it wasn't until two decades later, amidst the challenges of a difficult marriage and subsequent relationships, that Qrcky rekindled his connection with art as a means of self-expression. Drawing upon the creative freedom of his childhood, Qrcky sought refuge in the realm of painting, discovering a distinctive voice that was uniquely his own. To fully engage with his artistic calling, Qrcky chose a path of solitude, temporarily distancing himself from friends and family.
